Trapped in Bug City
Associate Professor of Thaumaturgy, University of Chicago
Ravi was born in Chicago, the child of Indian immigrants. He was several years younger than his brother. He showed some talent with magic at an early age. He was always a bookish sort of child, and it was no surprise to those who knew him when he decided to stay in academia. He went to U of C for his undergrad work, Texas A&M&M for his grad work, and did some post-grad research at MIT. He came back home to Chi-town to work, and hasn’t been out of the city since. He loves his city.
Ravi has a strong work ethic (for an academic), and is a student of Krishna (mentor spirit, Wise Warrior). He, unlike most of his colleagues, enjoys teaching the basic, required classes that every incoming frosh must take. He hopes to get tenure before too long, and also do some advanced research.
Ravi has been called pedantic, and that’s not too inaccurate. He has a tendency to forget his audience when speaking about magic, and just go on and on. It isn’t intentional, but there it is.
He has lived in his apartment since moving back from MIT, and can’t really afford any place nicer. He currently is not romantically involved.
